As an Entrepreneur I enjoy reading. In order to enhance yourself as a brand it is very important to gain insight and motivation for the plans of your business. These are my top five reads that I have enjoyed. These have all been monumental in motivating, strategizing, and growing my business. Many of these books have been recommended by fellow entrepreneurs and mentors throughout phases of my life.

I read “The E-Myth”, “Who Moved My Cheese”, and “Quitter” while I was in college. These books were all recommended by one of my professors that owned her own business. I have recently revisited these books as I have observed a few other individuals in my circle discuss these books. So, I have decided to tell you about my experience with reading these gems. As a physical therapist and occupational therapist I had the desire to open my own clinic; Little did I know that my ideas would shift! God has given me a different direction for the type of business that I thought I would own. But, regardless of the type of business you own or want to own, these books are great. I am still active as a physical and occupational therapist but I choose to do that on my own schedule. I treat patients on certain days of the week and still work on another passion of mine, creativity. One of the beautiful things in life is to be able to determine your work schedule and focus on your goals. I have been strongly supported by my spouse. He encourages me express myself in all of my passions whether they are healthcare, art or baking.

I know what you’re probably thinking, “She does a lot of stuff, how does it relate?”. What is awesome is the fact that I can take many of my interests and find unique ways to integrate them. My passion for helping people is a common ground for all of the gifts that God has given me. Whether it is baking, creating a piece of art , or helping a patient they are all beautiful things that inspire me. I’ve taken my talents in the arts to create one of a kind experiences for my clients. Not only a great cake, but maybe you would like a custom invitation or party favors. You see the possibilities can be endless if you release your entrepreneurial mind. Let me tell you about how these books have inspired me.

The “E-myth” is an awesome book for someone interested in becoming an entrepreneur. It helps make you think about the things that are important in driving your business. It also fuels you to access the tools to make your business successful. You need to understand the art of running a business. It is important to be able to monetize your gifts without constantly being at work. You need to be able to automate, to delegate, and to time manage in order to have a balanced life.

“Who Moved My Cheese” is also a good book and it allows you to figure out your personality type. It gives you truths about yourself. This is a great book to help you in your growth as an individual and in your work environment. It is a great discussion about change.

“Quitter” is a great book that helps you to find balance and to make responsible choices. It is a great read for the entrepreneur that is working for someone else but wants to be able to find time to work on their own dreams.

”Your Best Year Ever” is a motivational book that gives you a swift kick in the butt. It gives you motivation to be able to reach for your dreams. It makes you want to sit down and focus on you. If you want to have a great year, a great week, a great month, a great day….you have to be able to determine the tools that you need to get there. You need to be able to manage your time and find time for YOU.

Last but not least, we have “Successful Women Think Differently”. If you are a female entrepreneur this is a great read and addresses your mindset. This is a great book not only for an entrepreneur but as a woman that is looking for growth. It is a motivational book that allows you to do some introspection. If you really want to do an analysis of yourself this is a good start. In order to set yourself up for success you must learn to not only think differently but also to speak differently. This author has more than one book and I strongly recommend that you start here with thinking differently and you will also enjoy other books in her series.

Happy reading! I strongly recommend these top five books as an entrepreneur. Here is a link where you can find them to purchase.
